There's no crying in baseball!
It's been a long time since I went to a girl's softball game. Probably the last time I went to one, I was playing. Hmmm...That's been about 30 years or so... Anyway, I think they must've changed the rules or something. We used to have to pitch to the other team and they pitched to us. At this game, our coach pitched to our team and the the other coach pitched to his team. When did that happen? Why did that happen? When do the girls start pitching for themselves? It was a lot of fun and I'm glad I went.

When I was a kid, it was coach pitch until like 6th grade I think :) Heck I wouldnt trust most of these kids on a pitchers mound with me as the batter! I'd be thankful for the coach pitching!
I still don't quite get the comment thing on the blog. But here is a
response. They began doing some of the younger softball games with the
coach
pitching more than 10 years ago. The boys do t-ball, the girls do coach
pitch. The boys need to learn to swing a steady pitch, the girls need
to
learn the arc. Having coached and refereed...this new pitching thing is
much
welcomed for the players and the spectators. A little girl who can
barely
make it over the plate...is about the dullest thing on the planet to
participate in...they are just a stream of walks...no one gets to hit
anything or field anything...the only one who really has any action at
all
is the poor humiliated girl who keeps bowling.
Anyway, as to activities during spring break....there is SXSW...movies
and
music galore. There are some cool free shows. Also, if the weather is
nice,
you might want to check out mount bonnell, or the wild flower place.
For the
canine folks...you might want to take them to one of the dog
parks...red bud
island is great fun, as is bull creek. I think the rodeo is starting,
and
there is a big irish thing happening at Fados. Let me known if you need
company on an adventure. I am free the later part of the week.
